Vintage Valentines

Featuring *KATE*

I am a lover of all things vintage but especially vintage holiday decorations.  I saw these vintage Valentine textures quite a while back and knew that I wanted to use them sometime in the future.  I figured it would be in a framed display in my Second Life home since I wasn’t blogging back then but here they are and I am happy I get to use them for someone other than myself to see.

They just don’t make Valentines like they used to.  Most everything these days is licensed characters with a heart slapped on it somewhere.  I, myself, am a bit vintage so I can remember the cute Valentines with silly sayings like the bee saying “Bee Mine” or “Honey, I like you” and the little deer saying “I love you “deer-ly”.  I also remember spending the days leading up to Valentines Day decorating an old cereal box with construction paper and paper doily cut out hearts.  Once Valentine’s Day arrived we would all bring our boxes to school and when it was time to pass out Valentines we would drop them into each others beautiful cereal boxes.  Do kids even do that anymore??  If they don’t they are missing out on some great memories down the road.

*KATE* has released this adorable ring and bracelet set in time for Valentines Day.  It comes fitted for Maitreya and Slink and includes a hud to change metal textures as well as to hide/show the rings or bracelet. You can find it in the mainstore.
