I’m an animal lover, you know, one of those who treats their pets like children. I talk to my dog all the time and I think that makes them super smart. My dog has a HUGE vocabulary. It has been a while since I have had a cat due to my hubby being allergic and I don’t count the strays that were living under the porch since I was never able to get any where near them.

Being an animal lover is hard! I can’t tell you how many times I tried to save mice and chipmunks from my cats because I love mice and chipmunks too…guinea pigs, ferrets…pretty much if it has fur, I’m a fan.

At one point in time I had two cats at the same time, Sammy and Falcor. Sammy was a stray who had been caught in a trap (so of course I had to save and keep him) and Falcor was a solid white longhair. Falcor was a hunter but wouldn’t eat his kill. He would drop them at the door or if I didn’t notice he had it in his mouth he would dart in and drop it on the kitchen floor, be it bird, mouse or chipmunk. I remember the time he made it in with a chipmunk without me noticing. He then quickly dropped it, now that his mission of sneaking it in was successful….only it wasn’t dead and it took off down the hall with both cats and me in tow. Ahh..good times!

That was over 26 years ago and there have been a few more feline and canine members of the family since then. Pets…bundles of love wrapped in fur!
