Nick of Time – The Twilight Zone

Nick Of Time

Featuring Refuge at 6 Republic

Ok…so this picture might not win a great artistic award but let me just say I LOVE IT!  I had so much fun trying to recreate this scene from the Nick of Time episode of The Twilight Zone series.

The current round of 6 Republic has a theme of movies and TV.  Refuge has created a couple of items inspired by the original iconic series that ran from 1959 – 1964….so long ago and I still watch it all the time thanks to Netflix!

This particular episode revolves around a newlywed couple who visit a diner while waiting for car repairs and the male character, played by William Shatner, starts to let the one cent Mystic Seer direct all his decision making.  Here is the opening narration from Rod Serling;

“The hand belongs to Mr. Don S. Carter, male member of a honeymoon team on route across the Ohio countryside to New York City.  In one moment, they will be subjected to a gift most humans never receive in a lifetime. For one penny, they will be able to look into the future. The time is now, the place is a little diner in Ridgeview, Ohio, and what this young couple doesn’t realize is that this town happens to lie on the outskirts of the Twilight Zone.”

6 Republic is open now but this particular item won’t be available at the event until November 12 at 12 noon SLT.  Refuge does have an item there now that was also inspired by another Twilight Zone episode, The After Hours.  In that episode we find out what mannequins REALLY do when we aren’t watching.  If you have Netflix or Amazon Prime you can watch most of these great old episodes.  Have a great weekend!
