I thought my January was going to be filled with pretty winter photos but it seems my mind has other ideas. I don’t think I have done one winter photo since Christmas which pretty much follows my real life thoughts on snow….I love it at Christmas but then I can be done with it until the following Christmas. I guess all those LONGGGG winters in Michigan left their mark in my brain and even though I do miss snow at Christmas I am happy I don’t live in a state where the snow comes and sticks around for 4-5 months!
Featured here in all their colorful glory are these beautiful gallinules from |T|L|C| Home Collection. Now I had never heard of this bird so of course I had to Google it. So Google tells me that the gallinule is a bird in the family Rallidae and swims like a duck and walks atop floating vegetation. So then I was curious as to what other birds were in the Rallidae family. In addition to the gallinule the Rallidae family also consists of crakes and coots! *Insert blank stare here* What?! You’ve never heard of a crake or coot? Well don’t worry because neither had I. All you really need to know is how pretty they are and where you can get yours so let’s get on to the credits!
