Disclaimer! No actual weed was smoked during the shooting of this photo. *Laughs* It seems like I may have mentioned my short lived experience with “Mary Jane” in a previous blog post. Like a lot of “kids” in their 20’s I tried it and it just wasn’t my cup of tea….that was about 30 years ago. I know it has medicinal benefits for some people but I also know there are many who abuse the whole “medical marijuana” thing.

I was still living in Michigan when the medical marijuana act passed and people flocked to doctors with “illnesses” that would get them a permit or whatever it is they carry. As a two time cancer survivor that left a very bad taste in my mouth. Fortunately throughout my treatment I didn’t have to go that route. I would never begrudge it to someone who has a genuine need for it and the relief it provides them but I do have to question the character of anyone who obtained a permit under the guise of a medical need when all they really wanted to do was have a bit of a safety net if they got caught with a joint or two.

Anyway…that’s my two cents and to quote Tom Hanks in Forrest Gump, “that’s all I have to say about that”.
