Featuring Serenity Style, Pitaya and CELESTE
The first time I ever went to Vegas I was in the 10th grade. This was back in 1981 and I was 15 years old. My best friends parents well quite well off and invited me to come along on spring break that year. It was a whirlwind trip that started by flying to Arizona where they had a second home. We stayed there a few days and then drove to California where I got my first experience with Disney by going to Disneyland….and if you read my blog you know what happened there…I fell in Disney love! Anyway…we stayed a couple of days there and then headed to Vegas.
Vegas at 15 as the guest of a high roller was beyond words! We had our own room that adjoined her parents and we explored up and down the strip, spent afternoons at the pool ordering food and non- alcoholic fruity drinks and just signed on the dotted line for it all. We did all of this while her dad played poker. I didn’t really know what a “high-roller” was back then..I just knew we did everything and didn’t pay for anything! The neon letters in the photo that spell out “Sands” are a shout out to the hotel we stayed at. It is now long gone, having been imploded and demolished in 1996 to make way for The Venetian, which is still there today. I was a very lucky teenager to be able to experience all of that. Thank you Mr. and Mrs. L for your years of kindness and the memories you gave me!
My featured items are all at The Liaison Collaborative which has a Viva Las Vegas theme this round…just in case you couldn’t tell! 😉 Detail and landmarks are in the credits.
