I love this quote and its accuracy! I know for myself, playing dress up was one of my favorite things to do. My mother was an avid garage saler and she always brought something fun home for my sister and I. Faux fur, vintage lace, old formal dresses and pretty stiletto heels. This was 45 + years ago when there were real treasures to be found. Nowadays, its rusty pots and pans and old tupperware. LOL! Then came the Barbie phase that lasted YEARS! I was still playing Barbies in junior high and still loving it. By the time high school hit I was more interested in “dress up” for myself than for Skipper, Midge and Malibu Barbie.

Years went by and in my late 20’s I had my first (and only) child, a daughter! Once again there were baby dolls and dollhouses and Barbies and the most amazing Polly Pocket collection a girl could ask for. She is now in her late 20’s and still loves The Sims, her version of Barbies, and with Second Life, I am still playing dress up with my virtual Barbie and hoping it “never truly ends.”
