I’ve said before that I don’t miss all of the cold and snow we would get when I lived in Michigan. It was fine if you could stay indoors by a cozy fire but that didn’t happen often because of this thing called work. It’s still so funny to me how things here in the south come to a stand still at the mention of the “S” word. I get it, they have little to no experience with it so it’s a big deal…but it’s still funny for someone who grew up in Michigan where heading out in 5-6 inches of snow was the norm. We didn’t start watching for school closures until the forecast called for 8 or more since we lived in the country. Then all of the dirt roads and drifting snow became a problem for cars and buses alike. I do miss it though, the sound of it falling in the quiet of the evening, they way it captured the glow of Christmas lights. It seems a bit sad knowing there a people who haven’t, and won’t ever, experience that. So for the next three month, forgive me if sentimental ramblings of snow, winter and Christmases past find their way into my writings!
