Live & Learn

To quote Eminem, who is also from my home state of Michigan, “Guess who’s back? Back again.” Well, that would be me. I started the year off cutting way back on my blogging, leaving some beloved sponsors and moved to “Flickr” blogging.

That is where the live and learn comes in. What have I learned? Well, I have learned that cutting back on blogging was absolutely the best thing to do. I have also learned that I miss being able to blather on when I am in the mood to and I also learned that I LOATHE making links for credits on Flickr. There must be an easier way but if there is, I don’t know what it is. I have also learned that good quality JPEG’s are good enough for WordPress, knowing that I can post the high quality version on Flickr. That way I won’t fill up my media so quickly.

That leads me to the other thing I learned. It is a huge bore to go back and try to resize and replace almost 5 years worth of photos and frankly, not worth the time considering they are all available for viewing on Flickr. So I have removed all of the previous media associated with my posts from WordPress. GASP! I wanted to leave the posts because I like being able to go back and read them. It’s almost like a diary. If anyone really needs to see an old photo associated with a post they can find them all on Flickr using the same title as the title of any old post here. This way I can start fresh with an empty media bucket just waiting to be filled. Hopefully it fills a bit more slowly now but if I find it full in another 5 years I will just clear it out and start again…again. Sort of like clearing out the dryer lint and letting it accumulate again.

Anyhoo…stay tuned for more blog posts, photos and credits that don’t make me want to pull my hair out!
