Featuring PosEd Poses & Sway’s
Well no wonder it’s cold outside! I think I am a little underdressed for the weather but maybe a little kissy face with this Fall in Love pose from PosEd Poses will warm me up…kissy face and cocoa…don’t forget the cocoa!
Baby It’s Cold Outside is one of my favorite winter season songs and it has an interesting history as well. The Academy Award winning song was written by Frank Loesser in 1944. Apparently back in 1940’s Hollywood, when celebrities who could sing attended parties, they were expected to sing. Frank Loesser wrote Baby It’s Cold Outside to sing with his wife at their housewarming party at the Navarro Hotel in New York City. It was meant to be a cue to the guests that is was time to gather their coats and head home. His wife, Lynn Garland, has written that after that first performance, they were invited to all of the best parties for years, claiming it was their “ticket to caviar and truffles”.
In 1949, Frank sold the song to MGM to be used in the romantic comedy, Neptune’s Daughter. It won the Academy Award that year for Best Original Song.
It has been covered by many talented singers throughout the years and while I think the Dean Martin version is my favorite I really like the Michael Bublé duet with Idina Menzel. There is a really cute video of their version featuring children and a slight change of words to make it appropriate for the child performers. You can watch that video here. It’s super cute!
