Hazy Beginnings

Featuring {Old Barn Door} and Sway’s

Having lived in Michigan most of my life there were plenty of chances to get away “up north”.  Despite living there for over 40 years I never made it to the Upper Peninsula.  Petoskey was as far north as my adventures took me.  Northern Michigan is beautiful though and I enjoyed all my time camping or staying with friends.  Depending on where you live in Michigan the Upper Peninsula can be quite a drive…over 5 hours if you’re near the Ohio border.

The cabin in my photo reminds me a bit of one we rented when we vacationed in the Smoky Mountains.  I would like to head back there this spring or summer also. There is a haze almost every morning as the sun begins to burn off all the dew and moisture in the air.  In fact, that is why the Smoky Mountains are “smoky”…the release of certain compounds from all of the plants and trees.  I’m about a 5 hour drive from the Smoky’s but a 40 minute drive from a beautiful local state park.  Hopefully I get to do a bit of “glamping” in both spots this year!
