It Was A Dark And Stormy Night

When I was young most of my reading was done via comic books. My sister and I loved to read while we ate and rotated through our favorite comic books; anything from the Archie series, Hot Stuff, Spooky, Wendy, the Good Little Witch, Casper, Richie Rich and Little Dot. We also had and loved our Peanuts Treasury, a large hardback that we read and re-read probably hundreds of times.

The title of this photo was inspired from the Peanuts. Snoopy, Charlie Brown’s dog, would pull out a typewriter, put it on his doghouse and then start writing by saying, “Here’s the World Famous Author writing”. His “writing” almost always started with “It was a dark and stormy night”. Lucy and Linus aften tried to give him advice on how to improve his writing but the best it ever got was “Once upon a time, it was a dark and stormy night”. My picture is dark, not quite stormy and a little bit creepy. October is just around the corner and the magic and lure of Halloween is in the air! Are you ready?
